Northland Marine Library - Te Whanau a Tangaroa

Resources for Marine Planning & Conservation

Welcome to the Northland Marine Library – Te Whanau a Tangaroa.

This CD is an information resource for use in marine planning and conservation. The Northland Marine Library brings together vast amounts of information about Northland’s marine environment. It contains an interactive map index created from a wide variety of information sources, and a documents index with reports on the Northland coastline, plus background papers on marine conservation, management and planning.

The aim of this project is to make the wide range of information on Northland’s marine environment as widely available as possible, in a format that is easy to understand. The CD is designed primarily to assist people interested in marine planning, conservation and management. However, it offers something for all levels of inquiry from schoolchildren to scientists. The interactive HTML format allows you to easily move between maps, information resources and documents.
