Whangateau Harbour - Gem of Auckland’s Estuaries - Flounder Face

Whangateau Harbour - Gem of Auckland’s Estuaries - Flounder Face
Image by Roger Grace, published on 04/05/2011

If you approach very carefully sometimes you can get really close and personal with flounder in the Whangateau Harbour. This one allowed me within 10cm of its face, my twin flashes producing an eerie green reflection in the eyes! Presently you may see one or two flounder if you snorkel here, but protection would increase numbers and enhance the snorkel experience.
