Spindle Cowries and Gorgonians
Image by Roger Grace, published on 30/08/2007

Spindle Cowries, seen here on their host - pink gorgonian in deep diving depths at the Poor Knights. The shells are about 50mm long and the animals inside eat only this particular type of gorgonian. They are a subtropical species first found at the Poor Knights Islands in 1969.
