Get involved in conservation

Conservation can be described as the protection and careful management of the environment and natural resources - the protection from change, loss or injury.

In many ways, conservation is taking on more of a role of preservation - protection to avoid extinction.

Whichever way you look at it - conservation is all about people.  It can happen locally or globally, individually or collectively.  However it happens, it is essential that it does.

There are so many ways that individuals, schools, groups, government, business or industry can get involved in marine conservation.  You can start by making small changes in your everyday habits; don't let anything but rainwater go down the stormwater drain - it all ends up in the sea, only take what you can eat from the ocean, find out more about the state of your local marine environment and lobby for change if you see the need or support groups that have already started.
